Feeling all the blurghs with the repetitive and unrelenting working from home, home school, life admin, chores? We are up to day 17,601 of lockdown and have been on a real health crusade – the kids are getting more and more into trying new things, loving helping me cook and we are making meal time a real occasion – definitely a silver lining of Covid has been this special time (as hard as it is!).

My son is not the best at just eating fruits on their own so we have been making lots of smoothies to make sure he is still getting all the great nutrition that his body needs to thrive. These recipes below are 2 that we have on steady rotation- one that we pluck fresh mint from the garden and the other when we need a bit more filling as breakfast – and don;t forget to do the little smoothie dance as it churns its magic tune!
Green ‘Godess’
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1 handful baby spinach leaves
- 1 handful kale
- 2 tbsp mint leaves
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut water
- 1/2 cup filtered reverse osmosis water
- 1/2 tsp chia seeds to sprinkle on top
Or, for more of a breakfast meal you can try this one:
Green ‘God’
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 fresh baby cucumber
- 1 handful baby spinach leaves
- 2 tbsp mint leaves
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk water
- Scoop Welleco kids chocolate protein powder
Throw all the ingredients into your thermomix or nutrabullet and let me know how you go.
